What is a HIN?

A Hull Identification Number (HIN) is a 12-character serial number that uniquely identifies your boat. It's similar to a VIN on a car and is required by the U.S. Coast Guard for all boats manufactured after 1972.

Format: 12 alphanumeric characters (excludes I, O, Q)
Location: Usually on the starboard (right) side of the transom (back) of the boat
